Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you have a menu for me to choose what my meals will be each day?
No. We do not have a restaurant type menu for you to choose. Our menu is set each month. We send each client a copy of the menu so they know what to expect for each delivery.
  • How do I find out if I can receive meals on wheels from your program?
Please feel free to call our office at (215) 443- 9784 or fill out our contact form and we will be happy to go over all of the details of our program and how we can help make it work for you.
  • What time does my food arrive?
Your food is typically delivered between 10:30am to Noon. We do that so you have your food for lunchtime if you choose to eat it at that time. It can easily be reheated in the Microwave or regular oven.
  • What happens when you arrive at my door with my food?
Our drivers are happy to bring the food into the kitchen for you, or if you prefer, we can hand it to you right at the door. If you are not home at our delivery window, you are welcome to leave an Igloo-type cooler for us and we will place your food there so it’s ready when you return.
  • What if I am not home when my meals are delivered?
If you know you won’t be home when your meals are delivered, you can call our office and leave a message for your volunteer or you can leave a note on your door with instructions on where to leave your meal. Some clients leave a small cooler by their door for us.
  • What if I have difficulty getting to my door to receive my meals?
#1) Some of our clients ask our volunteers to enter their home and place the meals in a pre-appointed area (kitchen table, refrigerator). Our volunteer would knock, announce himself/herself and enter your home according to the pre-arranged instructions. #2) Some clients leave a small cooler outside by the front door and our volunteers leave the meals there. You can request that the volunteer call the house phone to let you know that the meal has arrived.
  • Do you receive federal funding for this program?
We do not! This program is fully funded by donations from our community. This includes local businesses, individual donors, and small grants from area organizations. It is truly amazing and an honor that we are entirely funded by our community!
